The Environment and Supply Chain Innovation (ESCI) group is seeking a dynamic leader who can drive change and develop leading occupational health and safety practices for emerging manufacturing technologies in our global supply chain.   • Proven track record of developing and managing health and safety programs
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and formulate strategic recommendations
  • Deep knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards including machine safety, hierarchy of safety controls and green chemistry
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures
  • Experience managing complex programs including setting goals, vendor management and executing to roadmap with cross-functional dependencies
Description As the Health & Safety Innovation manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities aimed at advancing health and safety across our global supply chain. Applying data driven insights and championing behavior-based safety principles, you will develop and implement a suite of initiatives that include: • Early assessment and mitigation of hazards associated with emerging technologies and new manufacturing practices • Wide scale adoption of safer alternative materials and green chemistry • Development of rigorous machine safety initiatives • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety globally, while managing and mentoring a team responsible for safety in the supply chain. Additionally, you will develop and implement safety protocols and procedures, provide training and guidance on safety best practices for suppliers and internal engineers, monitor and report on safety performance, and represent the company in industry-wide safety initiatives and policy development. This role requires constant cross-functional engagement with ESCI program teams, communications, product design, material specialists and automation systems experts. This role will also collaborate with others across operations and procurement to exercise commercial leverage on the supply chain. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field; advanced degree preferred 5+ years of experience in chemical and manufacturing related safety management in global manufacturing settings Additional Requirements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience directly managing teams and budgets
  • Experience with supply chain automation
  • Experience with implementing green chemistry principles
  • Certification in industrial hygiene, functional safety and/or hazard materials management
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10% time)
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,000 and $203,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
